Jess Blier is the Senior Analytical Linguist at Navigate360. Since 2019, she has helped shape and advance the Digital Threat Detection product. With a background in forensic linguistics, her work centers on understanding and operationalizing the language of risk to prevent harm before it occurs. She leads research on the language of threats, suicidal ideation, violent extremism, hate speech, bullying, depression, sexual violence, substance abuse, and more. Her efforts focus on developing linguistic technology that identifies early indicators of risk so students in distress can be recognized and supported.
Throughout her career in forensic linguistics, Jess has focused on delivering linguistic insights and technology that keep people safe—whether protecting the public, supporting individuals in crisis, or educating communities on recognizing warning signs. Her mission is to use linguistics for societal good.
