The Suicide Awareness and Prevention in Schools curriculum can be taken by any employee in a K-12 setting for knowledge and resources on how to recognize, be aware of, and hopefully, help prevent suicide in students. The content from these courses are compiled research and has been approved by a mental health professional. These courses are awareness courses, for general understanding by faculty and staff on how to be aware of, and hopefully prevent, suicide from happening in their students.

By the end of the courses, learners will be able to:

  • Describe how mental health of students can relate to suicide
  • Discuss student-specific risk factors of suicide
  • Help protect their students within the school community
  • Describe how suicide can affect those left behind and how to regain some sense of normalcy in their school
