Joe retired from the Lima, OH Department after 34 years of service. During that time, he worked primarily in patrol functions and SWAT. He spent 22 years of his service with the SWAT Unit and commanded it for 10 of those years. He holds numerous instructors’ certifications in both firearms and defensive tactics disciplines. Joe began training ALICE and RAIDER in 2009 with Response Options (the founding company of ALICE). When the ALICE Training Institute was formed, he was one of the first full time trainers hired. He continues to be an integral part of the Navigate360 Certified ALICE Instructor course today. Joe currently lives in Wyoming near the Yellowstone National Park where he enjoys several outdoor activities.
